If you are registered with our GP surgery, you can access online services to order your regular medications. To register, either come into the surgery with your ID to sign up or simply download the NHS app.
Collect at your Pharmacy Service
As of February 1st 2020 all prescriptions will be sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. If you do not nominate a pharmacy before this date, we will automatically nominate the pharmacy closest to your home address. You will simply just need to order your prescription and it will be ready for collection at your nominated pharmacy 48 hours later, saving you the need to collect the signed prescription and wait for the pharmacist to dispense it.
Ordering your repeat medication
There are a number of different ways that you can order your repeat medication:
- Online ordering over the internet
You need to ask the reception staff at the GP surgery to give you details so that you can set up your secure log-in. This is the easiest way to order your medicines as you can do it at a time to suit you.
- Online ordering via the NHS app
- Using the repeat medication list
When you get your medicines from the pharmacy you can ask the pharmacy to print out a list of the medicines that you have on repeat. You can use this list to order your medicines by ticking the items that you want to order and then:
- Handing the list in at the surgery, or;
- Posting the list to the surgery, or;
- Asking if the pharmacy is able to hand the list in to the surgery if they visit the surgery regularly.
Repeat dispensing
If you have been on the same medicines for a while without any changes you may be suitable for repeat dispensing so that you don’t need to order your medicines at all. Ask for a telephone call from the pharmacy team at the GP surgery who can discuss this with you to see if you are suitable for this.
Since all prescriptions must be authorised by a doctor, we would ask that you give at least 2 working days notice when requesting a repeat prescription. It is your responsibility to ensure you do not run out of medication. Please note medications not on repeat may take longer to process.
We also have our in-house pharmacy team- John Sherwood, Eliza Hughes, Alaa Daraji and Michelle Collins who are responsible for all our patients medication reviews. They look at any changes in the medication on behalf of our doctors.
