If you are registered with our GP surgery, you can access online services to book an appointment. To register, either come into the surgery with your ID to sign up or simply download the NHS app.

Types of Appointment

We offer a range of different appointments at Monkseaton Medical Centre, to ensure that all patients can be cared for in a way which is comfortable and appropriate for them. This includes face-to-face appointments, telephone consultations, group consultations and home visits. Our reception team will ask for a brief outline of your problem in order to direct you to the mot appropriate healthcare professional. By taking a brief description of your problem the clincian is lso able to better prepare for your session and help you get the most from your appointment.

Extended Access

You can now book an appointment to see a GP, nurse or other healthcare professional in the evening or at the weekend through the Extended Access services run by TyneHealth.

Appointments can be booked via your GP surgery or when they are closed via the TyneHealth Enhanced Access Appointment number 0191 486 2195.

Mental Wellbeing

  • Shout: the UK’s first 24/7 text service, free on all major mobile networks, for anyone in crisis anytime, anywhere. It’s a place to go if you’re struggling to cope and you need immediate help. If you’re experiencing a personal crisis, are unable to cope and need support, text Shout to 85258
  • Contact your local Mental Health Crisis Team 0303 123 1146: crisis teams are made up of experienced mental health staff, including nurses, social workers, psychiatrists and pharmacy staff, and offer services to anyone over the age of 16, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Only some medical problems are suitable for an eConsult. If you are thinking of contacting your GP surgery this way please check here to see if your GP will be able to deal with your concerns in an eConsult.
