There are many ailments that can be treated at home without a GP appointment. Please click on the links below for some of the more common problems that will get better on their own.
Monkseaton Medical Centre kindly ask patients to not attend the surgery if you have a self-limiting infectious disease. This is to reduce the risk of infecting a vulnerable patient i.e. pregnant women, babies, the elderly, frail patients and patients who are undergoing chemotherapy.
If you have followed the self-care advice below and you are still concerned, Monkseaton Medical Centre have telephone appointments available with a GP.
If a clinician i.e. a GP, has asked you to attend the surgery with an infectious disease we would be grateful if you could inform the receptionist so that you can be isolated from other patients who may be vulnerable.
